Root Planing / Quadrant Scaling
Deep cleaning of four or more teeth in a quadrant (Periodontal Disease).
Tissue is removed to allow for a restorative procedure when there is little or no tooth structure exposed.
Follows periodontal therapy i.e. root planning, quad scaling. Continues at varying intervals usually every 4 months.
If new recurring periodontal disease appears, additional diagnostic and treatment procedures must be considered.
Full Mouth Debridement
A type of deep cleaning that is followed up with other procedures such as a comprehensive evaluation and diagnosis.
The gross removal of plaque and claclus that interfere. Can also be followed up with root planing or quadrant scaling (Periodontal Disease).
of Antimicrobial Agents
Controlled release of vehicle into diseased tissue per tooth or quadrant. Medication(s) / Antibiotics inserted into periodontal pockets.
